Is this right for my standard Z1B tyre sizes. It's been so long since I changed them I have forgot.

3.25/19 = 100/90 x 19
4.00/18 = 120/90 x 18

They look and feel great

How much did they cost Chris?

Think they were about £125 delivered.

I wanted to go with the Z Power Japlops but they were £175.

My local tyre fitter has been trying to push me towards Avon Roadriders for £130 fitted. Has anyone any experience of these on standard wheel fitment.

Just fitted 100/90x19 and 130/80x18 Bridgestone bt45's.

Seem real good....but still early days.

Don't ask me how much they were, they were all wrapped up with some other work I had done.

And is there still enough clearance at the swinging arm. Does the profile change affect anything? Please let me know how you get on with that back tyre, I will not be able to fit mine for another few weeks so this interests me.

Thanks for that, I have never been an avon fan. I am going to use my Lester mags until my original wheels are renovated, I don't suppose there is any difference in width if I wanted to fit a 130 rear. I looked at my old wheels and they are fitted with a nearly new rear ME99 and a Dunlop Red Arrow up front, I used to love that combination back then.

Also does anyone know what the front wheel cover/blank looks like on Lester mags, I have the six bolt version for the early Z1's. This is the cover for the side without a disc. A close up picture would be great

Ted1r I've got an Avon roadrunner on my Z1A so far it's been ok, what bad experiences have you had? Thinking of changing to Bridgestone bt45s when I get some money together, you've got me worried now!

Been out on my STD size BT`s today Bill. Nicely run in now and first time out in the wet.

Do you judge a tyre by how it handles just in the rain? 'cos I'm sh*t scared when I get caught in the rain which I'm glad to say is not often. Bad experience 30 odd years ago on my first Z1A

If tyres are the wrong profile, or mismatched in any way, then it will really show up in the wet as twitchy handling.

I know the rest of my set up is good so any change would be down to the tyre.

Took some muddy and bumpy roads on the way home at "cough, cough" MPH and no weave, no shake, just nice and predictable.

Any tyre will feel good on hot sticky tarmac until it lets go in a big way. If a tyre starts to squirm on tar banding in the wet and you can get it back by controlling your machine balance then that is as much info as you will ever get, or need.

Wet roads are how you test predictability
