I have a set of 38m Mikuni Flat slides, which according to Mikuni are useable on a Z1000 A2, mine has a WISECO 1075 kit fitted.
Is this a good idea ? Are there any benefits to fitting them ?

You won't get the benefit without more tuning on the engine. Especially highlift cams. Bigger carbs will make low speed running more difficult to set up due to a lower air speed in the venturi. Your engine with std cams can only pump a limited amount of air which the std carbs can easily provide. My Z1R with 12-1 comp yoshi pistons, race cams ,gasflowed head,1mm o's valves, was quite happy on 28 mikunis and 130 mains. I'm now running 32mm katana mikunis and jim wells endurance cams on 120 mains.

Like wot he said....
Large carbs are better for higher revs & top end power...
Smaller better for mid/low range... more torque...

Don't be fooled into thinking big carbs equals more power. The lower venturi speed upsets the carburation at low speeds, When the air speed increases to an accepable level it feels like a surge of power when in fact you've just cleared the flat spot. Fitting bigger carbs to a relatively std motor will more than likely make your bike slower.

Yeah.... I'm assuming the engine can handle the carb size, then the larger carbs are better for top end power
Obviously, if they are too BIg or SMALL they won't work properly anyhow.

Just like to say I have no interest in your 38s cos they are way too big for my motor and it's basically the same spec as your other thread.
