main and city lights, on us model..z1000 for mot

Hi all,
just been checking the bike over for mot, and just trying to figure out the front lights, it seem that as its a us model, even thought it has the 3 light positions on the switch holder, it only has 2 positions on, main and city lights, and off, I did take switch off and check inside, and yes only 2 clicks, so I take it will this be ok for mot, its got privious mots, the R/H switch is a bit naff, and I will be replacing it at some stage, will get a 900 one and change the connetor ends, I was wondering if the 900 switch on goes under the tank same as 1000? other wise might be abit short..
