Stephen, Its gonna be a case or rechecking it all.... cam timimg, ignition, wire connections, all earth lead & coil leads...... :??

How long has bike been standing... FRESH FUEL (if several weeks does start to go off). Carbs blocked..... Rust/dirt in tank can settle around tap.

Needs a good fully charged battery to get a decent spark (usually a bit over 12v.

What else you touched since last run :?:

thanks pigford. it has been striped down 1year 3 months. too long. i fitted the boyer about 2 years ago but have always had problems starting from cold. it seems to drain the battery. standard reg and rec are still being used, could this be a problem? i have boyer wiring diagram which also has wiring for cold start. i have changed the wiring to suit cold start but new battery flat again. thinking of chucking the boyer in da bin. as for me other projects kawagixer and 650 chop have not had time to complete.been busy doing other projects for guys. my computer is ancient and wont let me post photo,s. but when the good lady buys a new one i will post before and after photos. I MISS MY BIG ZED PLEASE HELP. i was that frustrated working at it the other night i had bob marley blasting out to keep me calm!

What do you mean by "putting a lot of strain on new battery"?

If you mean it is turning over slowly check you main earth lead and starter leads.
