just bought a kz1000b4 ,stripped down rear end for an overhaul, went to clean the carbs today :..someone`s butchered some of the screw heads.

Is there a new set (Mukini`s?) i could bolt straight on for peace of mind? without spending telephone numbers :nik : :oh

Or a local guy said he can overhaul the old set.Think i`m a perfectionist :??

Do you mean the screws or the threads in the carb bodies ?

one thread in the actual carb body is stripped, and two drain plugs wont budge and the screw heads are chewed up, so i was thinking of maybe replacing the whole lot ,depending on price. :?? it`s turning out to be an expensive project   would like some advice/wondered if a new modern set would bolt straight on?

That`ll cost a lot.

Post piccies of the knackered body.

And warm the screws that won`t come undone, let them partially cool and try again. Might have to do this several times before they shift

Patience is the key here :(

yeah i can`t justify spending £500-£1000+? . A guy i know reckons it`s not a problem to restore the thread, thinking of just dumping the carbs on him to overhaul professionally.

Nothings unfixable..i hope

zeroed. Have a word with Ste Cooke; he`s in your area and is very good on carbs. Tommy
