one for the Z1R experts....I have 2 complete front master cylinders, both seem in ok condition, but they have different cable actuator
levers .....one is about 10mm longer from the pivot point to the cable hook .
The one with the short actuator gives a very solid lever, and the brake works fine as fast as I dare go up the driveway.
The one with the longer actuator makes a spongy, longer travel lever, but does seem to ultimately produce more braking power for the same grip.
Engineering wise, I understand why they are different and why they make for different braking, but anyone know what's the story behind the two actuators ......was it a special mod for riders with weaker grip ?.............

hi you'v got one master cylinder from the d3 model the short ones from 78 z1r when they found out the brakes were crap??? when kawa got the sintered pad set you used solid piston in the calipers and by the d3 mod they tried to get better brakes.

Thanks Compo. For now , I'll stick with the short one and see what its like on the road.
Did they not supply a modified handlebar lever as well, because the long actuator arm obviously needs a lot more cable/brake lever travel to do the initial caliper moving to get the pads firmly on the discs ?
Are the sintered pads still available ? I cna get some solid pistons made in stainless if necessary.
Just sorting out the rear caliper now, which will take slightly longer due to all the corrosion.
