Hi
What's the best way to remove old paint from plastic panels?
I normally use nitromors on metal components but I am little worried about using it on plastic

whatever you dont use nitromos, ive tried it and neeley had to chuck my tail piece away it hard to tell when you removed all the paint, and you end up taking all the plastic of as well, i had to cover the hole tail piece in filler and rub it down

Taffus, NEVER TRIED THIS MYSELF, however, I have heard that the relatively new Waterblast/ Vapour blasting machines can remove paint from the plastic side-covers and tail-pieces, using a medium such as walnut shells, Talcum powder (or butterfly wings?), without removing those little sacred edges that get lost sanding with wet & dry paper.
I can't believe that the medium can descriminate between paint and plastic.... Probably worth investigating.

I saw an Ad whilst waiting in a hydraulic shop near to Newbury that promises their blast method does not damage plastic, glass, rubber etc.
I think this was the method previously described by Garn.
