Looking at the number guide I think it's possible they're either from a B1 or an A5 - Z power's website says the A4 started at Z1E-086001 and the B1 started at Z1E-108503 it doesn't say what the A5 numbers were but someone who has or had an A5 or a B1 might be able to shed some light on it in relation to their numbers.

Baz,
Just had a look on "Pierre's" site and the last engine number shown on his owners database for a Z900A4 was Z1E 137289 (manufactured in Aug 1976).
So as your number is lower than this it is most likely to be a 1976 A4, or as Chris said, maybe a B1 LTD.

Hack if you look at that database it just says Z900 doesn't specify A4 - I'd say if that bike was made in August '76 there's a good chance it would have been an A5 or an LTD, I see he doesn't list Ltds separately either. The first 1000 on that database is KZT00AE008863 in October I don't know how many they made each month but I know there were Z1000s on sale in the UK before the end of 1976 - those last A4/5s were almost certainly being made at the same time as the first Z1000s.
