painted carbs

Just stripped my z650 carbs as far as I can and discovered some monkey in the past has painted them. Badly. I have half flaked off, original carb surface, half shiny silver paint and it looks awful. Although I've stripped them as far as the manual describes, there's still some moving parts and copper bits, so I'm not sure I could have them vapour blasted. Anyone got opinions/suggestions?
Also, I'm going to need rebuild kits - the only ones that seem to be available are the keyster stuff, and I know you lot have split opinions on the quality - does anyone have any suggestions for alternatives?

Hi Stu
I used keyster on my GT750 Kettle worked a treat (cv carbs)
I use a ultrasonic cleaner which I got from a guy in Wokingham (via ebay)
3 L capacity with timer and heater. This gets the carbs spanking clean. I have not had to ge tpaint off carbs before on other stuff including ally I use nitromors......

Thanks for the responses guys - I'll go look at the ultrasonics, got nitromors, so that's an option... It's good to know the keyster stuff is ok...
Pauljac, thanks for the pointer, but the engine on the bike is from an H - not sure what would have changed....

Taffus, don't suppose you have a link to the nearest equivalent to your cleaner on ebay? I don't want to get somethign mickey mouse, at the same time, I've already blown my budget...

Turns out carburettor cleaner has not only cleaned the things, it's removed all the paint as well. Mind you, if I'd realised it did that before I started spraying it I'd have covered the other bikes a bit better.

Might be worth getting your carbs ultra-soniced as well to ensure that all the small air passages,etc are perfectly clean.
I've ultra-soniced all my carb sets,both CV and slide,for the past few years and had perfect running everytime.
