Hi All,
I have just bought a Z1000J2 1982, but not yet collected it !. The motor is in bits but has a new timing chain with a spare welded and balanced crank, new bored out block, new wiseco piston set,new half race cams, brand new, dyno ignition still in box,new heavy duty clutch, springs etc, head rebuilt by Debens new valves/springs and flowed, original carbs. It needs putting together.Rolling chassis slab yolks original forks (pitted) gsxr front wheel/discs/calipers.Tl1000 rear wheel, braced S/A and piggy back shocks.Tankisrough but solid seat needs recovering, wiring yuk, frame powder coated and same number as log book.It does look well scruffy
So the first question is, can I use my GPZ1100B1 Clymer manual to rebuild the motor or have I got to get a manual for a Z1000J2 ?
When I collect it I'll take photos and try and work out how to post them, the other problem is that I haven't finished my GPZ1100B1 yet, but I couldn't turn this down,

my missus will have a fit, I told her I was only going to look at a few bits ! Chris

I've got a genuine Kawasaki workshop manual for the Z1000J and Gpz B models if you'd like to borrow it to build your bike.
Also I'm having a big clear out of 1000J and GPz1100 engine and chassis parts if you need anything.
Got a pair of really good part worn Bridgestone BT45 tyres in GSXR750 slabby sizes 110/80 x 18" and 140/70 x 18".£50 the pair + £15 postage.

Manual will be waiting for you at Donno show.
Speak to Keef the Teeth a.k.a. KEEFLEAF about vapour blasting.
He's based on the I.O.W.
Looks like Suzuki wheels,discs,swing arm,etc.
I'd go to Suzuki forks to make it easier to fit calipers, etc than feck about with the 38mm Z forks.
Just remember Chris "there's nothing wrong with that bike/car/wife/etc,that money won't fix"

Rumour has it that my local shot blasters have bought a vapour blaster and are threatening to use it.
I am ten miles North of Basingstoke.
They are half a mile down the road from me.
I can find a number for them if you dont find one more local to you.
Also; Debbens get a lot of stuff vapour blasted with the ceramic stuff. Might be worth having a word with them. They are along the coast at Ringwood. Details in the links section top right of page!
