Hi All i have a very early American import A4 (77th built) the clutch lever post
thread for the mirror is knackered,i have been loocking for a replacement but can only find the ones with the micro switch in any ideas where i can find one or ideas how to repair original?,,,,,,,

Agree with Steven, I've fixed many of these clutch perches with a 10mm helicoil, a grit blast and a coat of black paint.... Like new!

I know what you mean, every perch you seem to find has that unwanted micro switch fitment from the later machines.

Hi Never used helicoil before you say 10mm i have checked the thread in the post and it is 10mm x 1.5,what thread is the one on the mirror?is a 10mm helicoil a standard thread pitch?or do i need a specific one for the thread on the mirror i have miked the o/d on the mirror thread and it is 10mm.,,,,,,,

If it's the 77th A4 assembled, then your frame number no. should be : 85778. I've got the 208th A4 made. Just out of interest what is the month of manufacture as shown on the white sticker ?
