Hi
The first question of many I'm sure. Following my first note on the introductions page where I advised of my Z1000st purchase.
Can someone please advise if my bike will run on unleaded or do I need an addative.
Thanks
Mick

Should run on unleaded no problem, these use to run on 2 Star.

Almost all jap bikes were designed to run on unleaded, from the 1960's onwards. Think it had something to do with the emission laws in the usa, or the laws that were coming in in the future, as the usa is the biggest market.
I remember a mate who restores old cars once said that it was hardly worth modifying the cylinder heads because it would take quite a few thousand miles to do any damage and as classics dont do that many miles it would take years to do any damage. Maybe different for bikes though.

As far as I know the Japs never had leaded petrol.
There are a couple of bikes that must run leaded here but only due to the higher octane rating and these are highly tuned specials. The RC30 being one such.
