Vance & Hines Standard Drag Race Pro Pipe

#1 PostAuthor: Paul Whitehouse » Tue Dec 30, 2008 12:10 pm

I'm in the process of building a retro drag bike / streetfighter based on a `77 Z1000. Due to ground clearance it is my intention to run a Vance & Hines Standard Drag Race Pro Pipe (Vance & Hines V13001-P) the engine will be midly tuned. Having just been checking on the internet, it now appears that this pipe is being discontinued. I have found a few sites that still have stock and in their description they mention that all applications require frame modifications. My frame has been raked to allow for more clearance between the front wheel and frame, but are there any other mods I should be aware of....anybody ever fitted one of these before?...`Buzzard`...if you're out there, did you have one of these fitted to either of your drag bikes?
If it's too loud....too bad.

Speak to Ray or Steve Debben as they run Vance & Hines pipes on their own bikes.
Check out the Pro Comp only pipes with the larger headers.
Check out the thread and pics for the Muscle Bike weekend at the Pod earlier this year, there are a few Zedz with the sidewinder pipes fitted.
