throttle response

#1 PostAuthor: watty » Fri Nov 21, 2008 8:12 pm

Have purchased a z1000 a1 which has been sitting for a year.Drove it home fine but pulling away the bike dies, grab the clutch and give it some throttle and away she goes like a bat out of hell.
Any ideas to fix problem, i think its maybe dirt in the carbs.
Anyone point me in the right direction
Cheers

Start by putting some new plugs in it, drain tank and carbs, stick some fresh fuel in it and see how it goes.
It's also worth checking the carb rubbers to see if they are perished, check air filter too.
Four pipes rule, anything else is second best.
