Fitting Z1-Tank and Tailpiece to GPZ1100 /Z1000J

Did anyone of you ever do this and thereby create a poor-mans Z1000 ?
If so, what do I have to change, is there anything that fits or is it just a bolt-on-job ?
I have a GPZ1100 at home, but the looks... oh well... I'd just like to make it look more Z-ish...

Tank won`t fit without modification,{cut/weld...large hammer}.
Rear frame section..cut off,then make z1 section to weld on.
Don`t forget seat mods,....side panels...up to you.

PMC *through zpower) do Z1-r panels and custom fibreglass seats, it may be easier to fit one of them than standard kit.
Just a thought!

Thx for the hint... but I want the classic round shapes...
Maybe there is a different solution coming up, a friend might be parting with his Z1000A from '78 for a very reasonable price.

Jerry (club presidenti) can supply plastics for the round shape 9's and thous for a good.
They are replica parts but good stuff, then just source a cheap tank that you can hack about with.
Although I like you plan b the best get an a1.

Looks like it's gonna be Plan B anyway... I sourced two Z1000 from '79, one not completely original but very tidy, belonging to an old chap, who can't ride her anymore and the other one is a real wreck with AME-Forks and Sissybar, but I would drop in my Gixxer-Forks and some one-off rear-swinger in, that my dad made for his Z1000 back in the 80ies...
So I am kind of obliged to get a "real" Zed instead of the GPZ, which is nice yet not 100% the real thing

I will... a friend of mine is checking out the nicer of the two tonight, as it is located in the exactly other end of Austria... approx. 200 - 250 miles from here.
But I guess, I'll cut a deal on that.

Well, that's the way, Austria looks in the mountains...
The wheels will be swapped with some Gixxer-bits... but I'll keep all the original parts, if I can afford it, cause you'll never know, don't ya ?
