I've got to the stage of having to decide what to do about pistons for my 1015 barrels, it needs a rebore but not sure what piston set it's best to go with. I don't want to race tune or anything like that just want a good strong engine thats reliable any sugestions!

Wiseco piston kits are much £££ cheaper than genuine Kawasaki items.
With a 1015cc block (70mm) you can bore out to 1045cc (71mm),1075cc (72mm) or 1105cc (73mm).
The Wiseco street pistons have a compression ratio of 10.25:1.
The above information is from a 20 year old Orient Express catalogue.

I've got one of them as well Jack, real drooly material espesially the alloy canned V&H

If you want to keep it a long time 1045 it, new rings for the kwak pistons will probably cost as much as the wiseco kit.

Another +1 for the Wiseco pistons. I fitted a 1075 kit to my old Z1000 and never looked back. Well made and really tight tolerances. Didn't even need to adjust the ring gaps.
And as said above lots cheaper than OEM
