Colours for a uk A2 were luminous green and luminous red.
The green was deffo metallic.......but was the red ?
I always thought the red was non metallic but a guy at Z-Power has just confused me by telling me the red was also metallic !!

Nick, i always thought the red was non-metallic too, which is what is shown in the Micky Hesse book as well.

Hi Phil
Yes, I am confused. I thought the red was flat red.
I don't know who I spoke to at Z-Power.
Anyone got the definative answer ?
By the way Phil, you were right with Cobra Road and Racing.

Nick, i think i've got an original brochure, will see if i can find it.
Cobra used to have some big ads in the bike press of the time, i seem to remember that Mr Smyth was called a "loveable rogue", when he cleared off with peoples money.
I bet your mate called him something else!!

Yes Phil, you're not wrong, in fact I seem to remember that the acctual name he used started with a C ended with a T and had a N and a U somewhere in the middle.

I think your mate was only one of several people that lost money to him.
Can't find the brochure, but i took a colour photo copy of it a while back for someone, which i could send you if you like?

It's code for a 'rather undesireable fellow'
Possibly a cad or a bounder.

Yes I believe he did, I think he arrived on a red Z1000A2.....but was it metallic or non metallic ?
Hide out.....quite appropriate for Mr Smyth don't you think.

RS Bike Paint list it as "Luminous Red Metallic Paint", personally I can't believe that Kawasaki would have had a different type of paint for the red and green bikes, different colours of the same type, i.e. metallic is much more logical.
If it transpires that the red was not metallic I'll eat all my hats.

It was metallic but with small flakes and not very noticeable until looked at close up
