Hello I have a low mileage 76 A4 I restored last year. I bench tested the regulator and rectifier they seem OK. I even took off the countershaft sprocket cover to see if the wiring had been disturbed and chewed by the chain and sprocket but everything looks good.When I restored the bike I barely even had to clean the wiring all plugs look good clean pins on connectors etc Any ideas would be helpful?

Assuming you have re-checked all your connections and your battery condition, start at the begining and check the output from all three phases of the magneto then move onto reg./rec.
