Shocks

Just stripped my marazochi shocks to refurbish them chrome the springs etc renew the seals, when i rebuild what weight and quantity of oil do they take.

Mikey. I remember doing my set on the kettle.

The oil level is to the top when you stand the shocks in a certain position, so it runs over the reservoir. (I think it may be so the reservoir is at 45 degrees)

As for weight of oil, that is a variable like the shims in the valve. I had 10 weight hydraulic oil to hand so used that. You could use 5, 10, or even 15 weight so that gives you some scope for trial and error.
But I think the handbook said 5 weight.

Ok thanks chris, dont know if it makes a difference but these shocks are for my MK2 not my A2 doubt it makes a difference.

I went to a classic Laverda specialist for my bits. I got seals and shims from them for very reasonable cost.
Unfortunately they are now gone but it shouldn`t be too hard to find another suplier.
