Z1 handlebars,are they all the same ??

#1 PostAuthor: GregZ » Sun Aug 17, 2008 1:56 pm

Fella told me these handlebars were removed from his 73 lond time ago and placed on shelf along with the seat, tool kit and owners manual. Bike was used for drag racing in the 70's. the width and height are normal but the pullback is alot more then normal. Are all Z1 handlebars the same or were 73 a little different.
thanks

Greg,
I've had 3* Z900's, 2 * Z1b's & 2* 1973 Z1's and the bars were all the same. Looking at your image the set on the bike look to be correct. Mine were obviously UK spec bikes but pretty sure that didn't make a difference.

I've heard, but not sure that the Z1 bars and the early LTD bars are nearly the same other than the LTD ones pull back about an inch more.Might be LTD bars you have?

Easy way to tell if they are LTD bars is the holes for indicator wiring.

I'm pretty sure the USA bikes had "Highway Bars", that is, like their gunslingers they were "High, wide and handsome"

Export bikes to Germany, the UK, New Zealand and Australia had "Sport" bars. That is, lower and less raked.

Someone prove me wrong, I'm just going on instinct here.
