Hi Everyone. I am new to the forum, and new to Z1's. Got a Z1A two weeks ago, needed the carbs sorting, but thats been done and its running again. My last Bike was a Suzuki GT750 ( Kettle), this is effectively my first four stroke, unless you include a H**** PF 50 I had when i ws 16. ( a long time a ago.)
Couple of questions: Anyone recommend a source of parts, NOS or still avilable from reputable suppliers. Want to avoid ebay. Also, front tyre is getting on. Anyone have any preferences for sure footednes. My Kettle sported BT45's, these were the Dogs B's, but I would be interested in any views on this. Thanks.

Welcome Travis,
another "local"!
BT45's are good, many of us use them on our zeds.
Z Power are a good source here in the UK for parts, [and give discount to club members]. Look in links section.
Was that your Z1A outside Govnors Bridge shop i saw last week?

I reckon it`s the two stroke fumes that faddle yer daddle !
Funny though that progression from a kettle leads only to a Z.

Yes that was my Z1A at Gov'nors. The bike had been off the road for 3 years, so carbs were a bit gunged up. Just been out for another blast on it, cant believe how it keeps on pulling even in 5th. The Kettle was hopeless in 5th unless you were at about 6K revs

Little Dave told me he had just got the carb parts for your bike. It's a tidy looking machine, where did you buy it?

Do you manage to get out on any local ride outs? The Kettle boys have disowned me now
