After such great help on a previous query I would like to turn to you guys out there for help with my airbox.
After installing a new filter I found the little plastic lid would not seat properly. Taking the filter out allowed the lid to snap shut securely. It would seem that the filter is slightly too tall.
Has anyone else suffered the same or should I perhaps look at getting a new front part of the box ?

You shouldnt have a problem if you've got the right filter - certainly shouldnt be thinking in terms of having to change the airbox

Original is 5.5 inches tall and plenty about on ebay - certainly in the states.

Ive got a pretty decent one i can let you have if its any good to you.

I had this problem too but wasn't sure why either. I just ground off the pull tab on top of the filter and it then fitted OK. No problems since.
