Disaster has been averted

The carb which has the stuck throttle was wazzing pertol out of the overflow pipe.

Using a B&Q stubby screwdriver it is just about possible to remove the 4 screws holding the carburettor bowl; the starter motor cover needs to be removed and a towel placed on top to catch any bits trying to drop down.

The most awkward screw (front inner) is removed using the internals
of the stubby screwdriver and an alllen key). Well, it saves having to remove the carbs.

This screwdriver, cheap as it was, has proved time and time again that it is worth its weight in gold.

Once removed, a bit of jiggling of the float sorted it. :)
