been meaning to do this but don't know how.

on the right hand side of the engine is a domed nut cover that I am guess is some oil take off - inlet or outlet?

but not found a second point to connect from the cooler.

anyone got photos and parts info, on what is to be done?

and what engine to take a cooler from?

from photos I have seen, the cooler is mounter just below the head stock so what stops the oil from the cooler emptying into the engine?

Best method for a cooler is to use the takeoffs at the pressure switch
This is located centrally at the rear base of the cylinder barrels, just below the cam chain tensioner
You will need to either adapt the pressure switch housing, or track down some take offs (eBay or Debbens or BSR...etc).
Run the cooler with the lines exiting the top of the matrix and when running for the first time, start engine for 30 seconds to fill cooler then ercheck oil level... its that easy

sorry to ressurect this, but does anybody sell these? sure I recall someone posting about where to buy the take off.

also on Dave Marsden 's site (miriwaki rebuild) he is using a different take off but does not say where that is from.

GPZ 1100`s have oil cooler as Std.Maybe the takeoffs would fit?

GPz's take off's are very different to what you will need on an Z1000 'A' engine. You could use the cooler & hoses though.

I would also like to know (for myself as well). Is the standard oil pump 'man enough' to pump the oil through a cooler as well, or would it be better to fit the oil pump from a GPz

I can tell you I holed a piston on my Moriwaki 1105 MK2 and after rebuilding the oil light kept coming on. I would think that the size of pump was maybe the reason why. Had I known that I might have kept it instead of trading it in for a GPZ900.

Mark (Pigford) did you upgrade your oil pump on the beast?

We will be able to supply the cooler take offs very soon, these are the proper billet type, not cast, these are cnc machined and will accept the screw in fittings for braided stainless steel hoses from Earls, not the rubber hose/jubilee clip type as shown above. Regards, Steve
