Hydraulic Clutch Conversion recomendation

Just thought I would post a review of the hydraulic cltch conversion I have just completed. The part came from Germany a guy called Falk Stumm. A top guy communicates well and having bought three hydraulic actuators of him without any issues a guy I would recommend. This is the first one I have fitted onto a standard clutch cover the other 2 being fitted to alloy outrigger plates. Falk sells these on e bay Germany and takes paypal. This last one cost me £54.64 including postage. With the stainless line and fittings at £28.00 under £80.00 all fitted. I have added a link to one of his auctions at the bottom.
Clutch actuator fitted to the clutch cover using the same mount as the standard worm drive. I have passed the line through the old clutch mounting hole and completed the line afterwards, however you can just leave it to the side as per the photo on the e bay auction.
A photo of the clutch cover afterwards and the ZRX1100 mastercylinders fitted. You could use black covered lines to blend in further if you wished.

Thanks PADDERS!
I have been looking for these, I first spotted them at americanclassix.com, and they are expensive there, and they also dont sell them anymore for the "newer" kawa engines. Like 1000J-R.
They said that were importing them from Germany, I have been looking now an then on all ebays, and finally you spotted them!
I will send him an email asking for parts to my engine.

Do you think this will fit with a 17 tooth offset 630 sprocket.
I think it will get too close, BUT please correct me.

I love the engineering, but what's the advantage, other than not having to lubricate the clutch cable?

Good point Ralph.
I fitted it bacause after converting the standard front brake mastercylinder to a ZRX1100 one, the idea of the two matching as per Chrisu's bike appealed. Secondly as you know the hydraulic clutch takes up any slack so no more adjustments and having to grease the worm drive. The clutch action is much smoother now and less pressure is required. I could if I wanted to in the future, fit heavy duty springs without having to go to the gym first. Last point I have small hands and the fact these come with 4 way adjustable span levers means I can get the levers just where I want them.
All god points above, however if I'am being honest I just wanted something to do
greenlaningxt f you space out your worm drive to the point where it touches let me know the max distance and I will measure up this unit to see if it will fit. What offset are you running.

Interesting! I've been looking to convert to hydraulic. The Ebay ad says it won't fit to the standard J cover without making some mods first. What's involved?

Sorry Dark Skies I don't know however if you contact Falk I am sure he will e mail you the details. He has a nice zed that he sent some photo's of and is a genuine guy. Thats the reason I put this post on, there are many firms advertising goods that on arrival are a load of crap. This product is well made at a reasonable price so I thought deserved a mention.
All I need now is a place that will build me a back wheel without asking for an arm and a leg in return!!

Dark Skies, I have sent the seller an email asking for 1000J.
I know they used to be different, also two different cylinders for old an new engines.
I will put it out when he answerers.

Here's hoping he answers your email then - I emailed yesterday but haven't got a reply as yet.
I'm not so sure I'd want this set up though - having just had an accident in which a car T-Boned me and the bike, drivng my leg into the engine, I shudder to think of the conseqeuences of getting your toes shoved into this meat grinder.

That one that I have seen earlier is build in in the cover, but it was not like the Z900-1000 one.
So I dont know, but is possibly to convert a lot of different cylinders to fit, but they have to be outside the cover mostly.

I have two Z1000J covers to fit my CSR (M1). The early one and the later version for the M2.
The early one uses the coventional setup similar to above with a worm drive arrangement bolted to the inside of the cover. The later one uses a free floating arrangement in a cup with a large o ring - similar to a brake caliper piston bore. It also loses the sound damper arrangement - that internal cover.

If I should do this I want it inside, looks better I think.
Here is the answer from the seller;
Hi Roy
To fit the cyindre in the Z 1000 J cover, you must milling out the
old mechanic!
I can do this for you!It cost EUR 35,-
OK, but I know that somewhere out there there exists a cylinder that fits straight in... but 35 Euro isnt that much to pay then...
