another Q - rear brake set up

#1 PostAuthor: 02GF74 » Thu Jun 26, 2008 8:37 am

replaced brake fluid front and rear as it was ancient and wondering if I have a problem with the rear master.

there is some slack between push rod and the master piston and the round nut adjuster (the one that connectts it to the pedal) is almost at its furthest.

I don't think my brake pedal is too far down so am thinking that left standing, corrosion built up inside the cylinder, pressing the pedal pushed the piston up and due to this corrosion, it is unable to return down far enough.

Is this plausible?

Other possiblilities is that the pedal is adjusted to far down - I have big boots and it was set up like that done so that the pedal is not pressed down when riding :o

Looks like I'll be taking it apart for a clean up. :(
