Fuel tap leak, Z1100A

First techy post since I registered.

For the second time in about four years the fuel tap has started leaking. It is a vacuum operated, ON/PRIME/RESERVE type. It is not leaking down the fuel hose, but leaking around the tap handle.
I guess that the rubber disc with the five holes is the culprit again. Last time I used a reseal kit from Z-Power. Is there something extra I can do when I re-assemble the tap, or is it just a fact of life that when the tap sits in the same position for a few years, it will develop a leak.

Try applying a little rubber grease when you re-bulid it, keeps the parts soft and dont harden,

Or even vaseline (not KY gel :!: ) if you can't find Rubber Grease
