Front forks good/bad

#1 PostAuthor: ian penman » Wed May 14, 2008 4:30 pm

Spent the weekend wobbling round germany. My front forks are from a 77 z1000.They dont leak but are harsh on the autobahn bumps and definately not confidence inspiring on blind bumpy bends. Are progressive springs the answer? Who has used what and are you pleased with the results.Plans for a modern front end are on hold as its time to ride not spanner.I've got the standard metal mudguard and a forkbrace. 4 pot brakes from a zzr11.Am I expecting to much from an old design.Bike is a z900a4 fitted with fj12 engine and zephyr swinger. The forks are spoiling my fun!!!!

I think if you've modified the bike that much you may as well go the whole hog and stick a modern front end on :)
