Just looking through the wiring diagrams for Zeds with electronic ignition, and I see that these bikes have a resistor between the ignitor and the ignition coils.
The book doesnt give the value of this resistor, does anyone know what value it is ?
Maybe it not being there is giving me a weak spark at low rpm

That resistor is only on the 79 & 80 bikes - roughly 1.5 ohm resistance.

Those things do degrade with age - so sometimes the readings are way off... if you replace the coils on the bike, then most people dump the resistor and use 3 ohm coils.

Thats interesting because i put 2.5 ohm coils on for use with the electronic ignition i fitted from a mk11 Z1000 on my 1978 Z1R

So i will try out my old 3 ohm coils just to see if that improves the spark at low revs

thanks
