havent taken them off yet (could it just be shit holding them open! )
but was wondering does anybody have any ideas

Hello Murph, Yes, the float valve is not shutting the fuel off, you could try squirting a little wd40 down the fuel lines, sometimes works, is the bike left on the sidestand ? if the bike is parked upright on mainstand or paddock stand there is less chance of this problem. Regards, Steve

Why not put a packing piece (eg: a bit of wood) under the side stand, to keep it near vertical....
Before anyone starts, make sure it
can't fall over to the right tho'

I have a small length (ooooh errrrr missus) of rope attached to the wall and it is hooked onto the right handlebar end as insurance

for this exact purpose

Hi jack i think i know the one you mean its certainly an option
that i hadn.t thought of as the garage is a bit tight for space as it is .!
Thats unless any members have a single sided paddock stand that.s
going cheap .

If the fuel tap was off and it was still pissing out then you need a better fuel tap. When I used to get bits of crap (usually from inline filters!!!) holding the valves open I used to run the bike with the fuel turned off and then when it had stalled turn the fuel back on which usually cleared it from the valves without having to take anything off.

They are called a "Bike Grab" and are very useful think they are about £90 I've had one for a while and can fully recommend them.
not too upright

Carefull, my friend D***** parked his Z1300 on the sidestand on the raised car platform to the side of the house. Unknown to him he had got a nail in the tyre whilst out riding that day and came down in the morning to find the bike standing on it handlebars in the passageway next to the side door. Passageway was 2ft 6 wide and the bike fitted it exactly. Got a fork lift truck from the local timber yard to lift it vertically out.
