Guys im realy desperate to take my Z1000A2 to th ace on the 20th.
But i have nothing but greif with the carbs.
Starting from cold ok but it starts by running on 2 or 3 pots then as it gets warm idling on choke the last pot cuts or sometimes it dont and i gota clean
the plug, all the while its backfiring and popping till the last pot cuts in when
it does the backfiring stops and you can turn the choke off and start to rev it.
Its done 250 miles since i rebored it end of last summer and its started to smoke a bit felt end of exhaust and its dry not oily wet, its running standard airbox & filter standard jets, done the shims checked the timing its running dyna s ignition and coils, balanced the carbs best i could but im no expert at it. When i ride it pulls the gears ok but it just feels rough and not right if you know what i mean.
I would appreciate any help cuz i wanna take it, got me ZZR 1100 bit it aint no Z!! :(

I would say get the carbs synced properly and see what happens after that.

Had a similar problem, check all the carb rubbers are tight and rebalance the carbs making sure they all fall within 20-23 cm adjusting tickover accordingly. If any are registering a high reading they will not draw enough fuel.
Good luck

What plugs are you using Mikey? If you're using NGKs bin the fuckas and get some Nippon Densos from http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/index.htm. They're about a quid a piece and are the donkey's private parts. :D

First check fuel heights and air leaks from the rubbers, then sync the carbs.

You're more patient than me Mikey!

I have a mate in Shire who might be persuaded to do it sooner for a handful o beer tokens. Can vouch for his competance!
