Oil level glass

Just picked up a new clutch cover and the oil level glass.What is the correct way to fit this to the cover?

Fit it like you would a normal oil seal . Wipe a bit of oil round the outside and press into hole . Glass to the outside !!!!!!

I use a light smear of RTV (silicon) to fit it, cos last one weeped a little.
