Z1000 A2 Flooding

HI, I have a1978 Z1000 A2 which is flooding and the last owner had the same problem. I have cleaned the carbs and reset the float heights and it seems fine but give it a bit and it does it again. Seems to come out the overflows on the centre two carbs and also the inlet where the air filter fits on. The bike is a usa import and the 28mm carbs have two brass breather outlets and two lower plastick tees for fuel inlet. Also four adjustment screws underneath, not on the float bowls tho but closer up to the block, strange. (the carbs on my old Z1R 1978 were not like these)
Any thoughts ? maybe I need to try again with the cleaning.....
Be nice to just get another set nice easy Z1R carbs and just fit them !

Have you checked the float valves, are they in good condition and fitted correctly etc,?..............if the floats are lifting and the valves are shutting off at the correct height they should not flood?,are the floats ok also and free to move on the pivot pin ok?

I have checked the floats are all ok and move freely. Has had new valves and on the bench that is upside down, they all seem to work ok. Fitted new pipes and washed out the tank too. :??
I would love to contact this 'stevzedone' off ebay but how can I contact him, anyone no ?

Rust / crap / overspray etc in fuel tank? Do the fuel heights by service fuel level and not by turn them upside down and measure the float, it is a lot more accurate and you will also see if it is cutting off cleanly.
