I have fitted some lurvely Marzocchi shox (fleabay bargain) to the old gurl, but now the chain guard is being rubbed by the chain; and isn't enjoying the experience. The chain guard isn't in it's first flush of yoot, having been sourced off ebay aages ago, and does have a bit of a split in it. Just done my VAT return and TAX bastard is also biting at me boolix , so a new chain guard is off the menu along with lots of other bits I was going to get.

Any one know of a good way to adjust the chain guard to fit better. I've tried various efforts to pack it with washers et al to get clearance, but to no avail. It was OK with the more standard shocks she was wearing before the resto started. I was tempted use epoxy with some glass mat (I've already got some in stock) to repair the split, but I have a feeling that epoxy won't bond well to this type of plastic. Getting the chain grease out from inside will probably be very challenging. My first attempt with Jizer failled miserably.

Any ideas

Ralph, I have seen many neat modifications to the standard plastic chain-guard when fitting non-standard shocks. The interference obvioustly comes from the lower part of the Marzochhi shocks. It is this area that is cut away and neatly rounded. Sure, it doesn't look good if you revert back to standard Z1000 shocks, however, it can be made to look acceptable.
