Fuel gauge on a Z1R

Hi everyone,

The fuel guage on my Z1R has never worked since I owned the bike,it appears that the needle has come away from its location.

Can this be fixed by opening up the gauge and getting inside it to remount the needle or is it only fit for the bin.

I only take the bike out on sunny days and for short distances so its not a major problem as I just keep the tank full and rely on the reserve fuel tap but it would be nice to get it working.

regards

Dave

I'd ask Chris Rivett to see if this is something he can help with. Failing that keep an eye out for one on evilbay or hope someone has one spare......

My fuel gauge never worked either and this was back in 1988, I understand this was not uncommon for the Z1R

Mine DID work,but.......... got shot of it they are a waste of time
but if you want to keep it get in touch with Chris R an see if he will razzle dazzle it
Just keep an eye on the ODO :up
Failing that open the filler tank n give the Z1-R a shake

I found with my Zed, last year, that her fuel consumption seemed to be wildly varied and the only reliable method was to stick me eye ball in the 'ole and shake :D
