z1r engine

I've being building a z1r from bits and i dont think the engine is the original one....... the number is Z1E-071**......... does anybody know what model it is from?........ thanks.

Sounds like a mid 70's 900 engine. The Z1-R engines started with KZT00DE******

According to zedder.com it's a 75 z1b engine.
Z1r engine should be KZTOODE000101 - 017412

Sparky, If you are correct in your display of the configuration of engine number ie. Z1E-071XX, it could be a sought after '73 Z1 (manufactured approx 2nd month '73).
Pasc, would be correct with his Z1B, if it was Z1E-071XXX.
Agree with Pasc & Stale, the prefex Z1E is only for the Z1 series & kZ/z900

Thanks for the replies.............. the number in the registration certificate and on the engine is Z1E-071**....... I take it that means its a 73 engine.?

Thanks for the offer of help Iain, just finished re-wiring it (bike didnt have a wiring harness when i got it, just a jumble of wires)....... one of these days i'll find the time to trying starting it.
