Engine sprocket removal Z1000R2

I was keen today ( and well wrapped up ) and started to remove the bits and pieces from the bottom half of the engine to get it on the stand for a spruce up.

All went well until it came to taking off the sprocket, the manual states to use a particular tool that fits into two holes in the sprocket. The sprocket does not have the holes, even if I had the tool!

Any advice on getting the bugger off? or other suggestions?

Cheers

With the chain on stamp on the back brake and undo the bolt

You could also stick the bike in gear and place a 2 by four through the rear wheel and against the swingarm to lock it up.
Do not attempt with a spoked wheel!

Or get (or make) one of these. Also great for holding clutch hubs.
