Elr R2 engine stand?

#1 PostAuthor: Stugill » Tue Dec 13, 2016 11:22 am

Good morning.

As the; head, barrels and lots more bits are off the bike and the sump has a slight oil leak I was contemplating removing the engine and giving it a good clean and spruce up.

Has anyone purchased the engine stand from the bay, or is there any other cunning plan that people use?

I don't mind buying the stand if it is any good, however it will be another rarely used item getting in the way! I don't think that it dismantles.

Cheers

Stu

Thanks.

It is a black one, powder coated or painted. Or at least that is how it looks in the photo.

I won't name the seller on here as some people may be happy enough with them...his feedback is actually good. Just had a look on ebay and he seems to be painting them black now.......they used to be silver.....circa £31.99.
It depends what you want. There's no adjustment, flimsy thin brackets, poor quality finish, I could weld it up better and that's saying something.....it was a very bad/tight fit & hard enough to get the empty cases to fit in the stand never mind once the engine was built up lifting it off....all in all though it does actually do what the advert says it will do....i.e. support the motor. Don't expect quality though !

i have a full rotating engine stand you can borrow if you want - depending on how long you need it for.
