No.3 plug is fouling on rich fuel mix. Eliminated everything else that I know of and even went to the extent of changing all avail components from No.3 to No.4 ( hoping the issue would transfer and at least not have to remove the bloody things with original airbox all the time !!! ) but the issue stayed on No.3.
I'm thinking it has to be the choke plunger, so going to strip the whole units down to give a clean out and see what the go is.
With the plungers do they stuff up, as in need replacing often ? I'd rather have parts on hand so the carbs aren't laying in pieces for weeks. A quick look makes it a difficult search for plungers in any case.

Swap the plungers,there is a seat on the bottom of them that goes hard,you cant replace the seal,look for another one if the problem transfers,common problem,use a Gunson colourtune to prove! Paul j

Any kits that have these included or is it a seperate item ? Got a good seal place down here that can supply almost anything if given original measurements and usually at 1/8th of the cost !!!

Also is there a link to a thread that deals with complete strip and rebuild of the carbs ??

As i said you cant replace its pressed into the bottom of the brass plunger,Google, wired George he has some good tips on his site,also the Gs resources has some good info..Paul J

Misread that in a hazy blur, I've pulled the carbs apart and and given them a clean out. Swapped the suspect plunger from No.3 to No. 4 so if it does transfer I should be able to change out the plunger in situ.
