Inner tubes - heavy duty ?

Any body using heavy duty inner tubes in their z ?
I've heard they can get hot in a road bike but as I don't hardly ever ride flat out these days does it really make any difference in the real world ? There's also a massive range of larger sizes in heavy duty as well

Used to use them in my DRZ400, they are heavy, probably weigh 3 times what a normal tube weighs, never had a puncture in one though.

Cheers yeah I've used plenty in my dirt bikes over the years as well but never in my road bikes. I know build up of heat is meant to be a problem but on our congested speed restricted roads is it really a problem.....that's the question really. Obviously I have no intention of using it for track days or similar

Don't think they're "advised" for use on the road..... a decent brand normal tube will be fine

What the man says. Judging by the effect they have on my green lane drz it'll feel like the wheels are very very out of balance.
