Can anyone tell me the total fuel capacity for my 1979 Z1000 A2 - Also at what level does the reserve kick in ? Thanks all.

16 litres I think is the fuel tank capacity for the A2. Reserve is around 2-2.5 litres.

It's actually closer to 17 litres

Working on roughly 9-10 miles to the litre I used to get around 110 miles on main which would suggest nearly 5 litres on reserve. This was an A1 which has the same capacity tank but different tap.

Of course all of this depends on the fuel tap pick up height.

Hi Mark,

On a single pingel it is not very much at all and I am not sure how consistent they are - I have seen one person say like under 10 miles - I have done 20 careful miles on reserve and when filled up I calculated that there was very very little left to go - always meant to run it dry to really tell ....!
I do have a slightly tuned engine and larger carbs so using more than a standard bike.

Others I am sure can advise further.
