Hi to everyone, this is my first post online.
I have after a 20 year break, have bought a bike again today!
Some of you will have seen it advertised by a company in Halifax called Chequered Flag.
I have since (all day) been trying to get insurance for it and am struggling as it is a 1974 Z1A with an 1982 GPZ1100 motor fitted, along with other "modern mods".
Any ideas who to try as all seem to want to avoid a modified bike.

Footman James are very good with modified bikes.
If you are a paid up member of the Z1 owners club you'll get a discounted quote.FJ also do agreed value insurance but you need to supply pics, etc of your bike but it's well worth doing.
When I spoke to F.J. about modified bike quotes, they weren't bothered about big-bore motors, big carbs, etc, but they didn't like anything with modified headstocks, etc.

whereas Carol Nash weren't bothered about that at all.

Sent photos - agreed valuation - no problem.

I guess the answer is try them all and see who gives you the best quote.
