I know Nippon Denso W24ES-U are currently the plug of choice, does it make any difference if you are running Dyna Coils and ignition?

Also is it worth paying extra for the W24ES-ZU iridium plugs ?

Coils shouldn't make any differnce to plug heat value to the best of my knowledge.

In my opinion there is a lot of cock talked about so say whoopy shit plugs. Over the years I have tried fancy pants plugs and I have never had any discernable change in power from one make of plug to another, Some plugs, like modern NGKs, liedown with their legs in the air when shown the vaguest hint of moisture, whereas the Nippon Densos I took from my oil drinking monster were so covered in clagg, it's a miricle they worked at all. Maybe on a really uber highly tuned engine, the ultra expensive plugs might make a couple of hundredths difference off the line, but it is my belief that on old engine like ours it is only a plaecebo effect and having spent silly money you don't want to admit to your mates you've been shagged over

I think these fancy plugs are a bit like spoilers on cars - on a formula one car you need a wing to keep the arse end on the ground, but an Astra ... I don't think so

The iridium plugs burn hotter than standard ones..
This means that they burn more fuel which means more power.
Fitting iridium plugs usually means up-jetting to get maximum benefit.

Interesting ! This would suggest that unless you were doing aditional planned mod's to the engine which require re-jettinganayway, Replacing the plug's for Iridium ones would not give any real advanteges in power.

Any fine tip plug is a GOOD idea.
Better spark - burn of fuel = more economy & power, even if its hard to detect.
Less chance of fouling plugs too - less energy needed to make spark.
I run all me Zeds with Dyna kit, so I believe in have the WHOLE ignition system as good as poss, even if just for the placebo effect
I run the posh Denso iridium plugs (?40 a set ) along with Dyna 2000, Dyna 2.2 coils & Taylor silicon leads.... ahhhhhhhhhh

All I gotta do is find a way of cramming some extra GO-JUICE in them bores for it to ignite

I'll stick with the ?4 a set ones and buy my self another 4 tank fulls of petrol!

When someone shows me a set of real dyno prints of a regular quid a piece plugs and another on the same bike showing a significant increase for these so called wonder plugs I'll go out and by a box full.
