ZRX1200 Main Stands - Are they Avail ??

Can I just ask anyone who knows whether any ZRX 1200 ever had a main stand.

If so was it ever fitted as standard - or are there just brackets there to accept one as an optional extra (like a CB1300)

If anyone knows a part number that I could price one up from that would be great.

They mostly seem to be side stand or paddock stands in the pics these days.

Cheers from Mark

I am pretty sure that neither the ZRX1100 or 1200 ever had a centre or mainstand. I don't think there ever was a part number for it as an option.
I have been on both ZRXOA and ZRXOC sites for a few years and did see that a member in the USA developed one as an aftermarket part - but it did not end well!

To the best of my knowledge..

No, they were never fitted with main stands and no stands from other models will fit.

There is a US based site, ZRXOA, and someone on there did make them, although I'm not sure how successful it was and if he still makes them.
Worth joining and doing a search.

In the garage, an ABBA stand does the job.

EDIT Vinnie got in while I was typing!

Are there fixing lugs under the frame?

No lugs are on the frame for center stand fitting.

Thanks ladz.
Good info.

I did find one guy who had made an aftermarket stand - apparently he sold it for both 1100 and 1200 bikes without realising the frame heights were different

Seems a bit strange for a bike of that size and style not to have one but there you go.

CB 13 has it as a genuine part optional extra and GSX 14 had it as standard. I would have thought it was for a similar audience myself.

Cheers

I have always removed the main stand from my bikes where they were fitted.

The bloody things always scrape on the floor in corners, plus they look a total abortion.

I add R&G cotton bobbins (I will drill or weld the swingarm if necessary) and use a decent paddock stand when I want the wheel out, or to adjust the chain etc when it's in the garage at home.

I cannot think why I would need a mainstand when I am out ? If I hit a puncture, I have a repair kit with me and the garage will have a paddock stand when the bike gets there .... even the chain can be adjusted on the sidestand if needs be.

The Rex swingarm should have bobbin mounts anyway

As a Rex owner I can categorically state that they never had a centre stand.
I have an Abba stand and they are great.
