KZ1000 J Speedo

Hi,
Have a KZ1000 J 1982 with electronic speedo, had front wheel of for a clean and all looked OK, took it out for a drive and speedo stopped working. What checks can I do to see what went wrong and needs replacing???

Test the output at the three pin connector in the headlight shell as per the manual.
Did you remove the drive unit from the spindle? It is ridiculously easy to bend the pressed steel drive ring with its two tiny little tabs.

Removed wheel and bent the two tabs inward so they will engage in the wheel, and all seems to be OK again.
