Pattern mirrors blur after 30mph.
Genuine ones do it after 60.

Chrisu bought some pattern ones and put in some anti vibration material which improved them considerably.

As above. If you can see anything behind you much past 20mph there's a chance they're genuine.

I used some silicon behind the glass on an old pattern set and it improved them no-end.

Not quitecorrect chris. I bought a set of short stem mirrors off ebay from a company called yuniparts. These had metal/rubber mountings which damped vibration. I just swapped the stems for std Z length ones.

Sadly looks like they don't do them any more. I guess you could contact them to see if they do have any.

Are there no typical Kawasaki numbers or marks to look out for?

If you look on ebay find some pattern type mirrors but ensure the stem goes into a threaded portion on the mirror not into a brass bush which is pressed into the cheap repro ones ,then just swap the complter mirror inserts, need a bit of fiddling but i have done this with some success and no vibes!

From a previous thread I believe KeithZ1r recommends these which are similar to originals and come in long stem or shorter stem (for Z1R) and apparently do not vibrate.

From experience I would avoid the 'Emgo' make of mirrors as they simply do not work.

I've got those on long stems also. They are virtually identical to the original Kawasaki items, only difference is a slightly rougher finish on the back.

I put foam in the back of mine just to make sure and they are rock steady at any legal speed Wink

I think the right hand mirror is a new genuine Kawasaki item, the other is the Yuniworld job
