Frame/engine numbers

#1 PostAuthor: Paul Mc » Wed Aug 24, 2016 3:50 pm

Hi guys,
I'm considering buying a Z1B it looks a bit tired but nothing too bad (what is these days)
My only problem is the frame and engine numbers are 230 numbers apart.
Is this ok to count as 'matching numbers'

Many thanks for any help.

Pretty much par for the course. Never were matched numbers.

That's not quite true as there are a couple of Z1Bs in the UK with matching numbers and I own one of them.

Engine and frame numbers up to 500 apart is acceptable / normal. Matching numbers are very rare.

I've got 3 Z1B's and the numbers are 16, 102 and 210 apart !

A difference of 230 would probably be right.

Paul,
If you do buy it confirm numbers with KMUK as they will tell you the day it was built if the numbers match and issue a dating letter for your £54 fee too.
