What rate of oil usage is normal??????????

Guys,

What would you say is a regular amount of usage for a Z1000

My bike shows no smokey signs and does not leak any where but it does use a bit of oil --half a litre or so every couple of hundred miles

indicated mileage is 31k but who knows

Steve, that sounds excessive to me, but not the firswt to comment on high oil use with no smoke

That does sound excessive. Give mine a top up every thousand miles or so, but nowhere near 1/2 a litre! Most of mines lost out of breathers when give it a good thrashing tho.

If you haven't got a leak sounds as though your engines gonna need an overhaul at some point. Any signs of oily deposits in the exhaust?

Nope,

No signs of oil in the exhaust curently but i will keep my eye on it

I think i will get a compression test done on it soon
