It would appear that the DFI fuel injection system on my bike , a 1100 Uni Trac , has acquired an intermittent fault in that the DFI light illuminates after 60 - 70 miles.
On checking the LED light on the ECU unit it would appear that the engine temperature sensor is to blame.
Does anyone know if these are readily available? if not does anyone have a serviceable replacement sensor which I could purchase.
Secondly is it an easy fix or would I need to find a specialist, I have read the Clymer manual and the fuel injection system does seem complex.
thanks in advance
Stuart

As JB says,
Remove the sensor from the boss & remove the boss from the head & clean all threads thoroughly. 30+ years of corrosion will seriously affect the electrical resistance.
I'd also recommend that you cut the bullet connector off the cable & inspect the condition of the wire for corrosion, before crimping on a new connector. If the wire is also corroded, then replace that as well.
