After toying with selling the zed I rode it to see the old man today and it was so flawless and fun to ride that I came to my senses and decided I would throw some money at it instead. Anyway, it has the original carbs on it that tend to flood so they could do with some attention. The motor is 1105cc, can anyone recommend a suitable set of carbs for 'reasonable' mpg that might be better suited? It is an ST with Harris exhaust and pod filters.

I have an air box spare if you think this might help...

The original 28's are plenty good enough for your spec motor so I'd treat them to a new set of float needles and seats then reset the float heights.
That should cure the flooding and save a bundle of cash.
Maybe even give them a complete refresh with new keyster/nrp internals to tighten up the fueling.
If it's running fine otherwise why go through all the hassle of fitting other carbs that you may never get set right.
Better the devil you know.

i'd certainly go back to the std airbox if you can.
My Z1 is 1105 also and running on std 28mm carbs fine

That is good news, I wasn't sure if I would need to upgrade the carbs to get the most of the motor. Solid advice, thanks lads, I will go for a refresh of these carbs and get hold of an airbox too.
